T6500 Case Protects Cameras and Memories through Grand Canyon Adventure

by | Jun 5, 2013

You have probably seen beautiful pictures of the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Over its 277 mile journey, the river offers hard to imagine scenery. There is probably no finer way to experience its majesty than on a raft trip. When you enter at Lee’s Ferry just below the Glen Canyon Dam, you are committed to your adventure for 14 to 30 days. Just you and your team, your gear and the food you brought with you. You take out all you brought in, taking only pictures to keep your memories fresh.

At times, the river is peaceful, and you float along, relaxing, fishing, or taking pictures at leisure. Sometimes walls of sandstone soar 6000 feet above you. At other places it is wide and serene. At the end of the day, a fabulous hike awaits, followed by a delicious dinner.

Soon you hear an ominous roar ahead – time to quit dreaming. You are about to enter one of 118 churning rapids. You get ready–camera gear in case, paddles and gear secure, helmet straps and life jackets tight, ensuring each raft guide knows how the rapid is to be run. The river can put you and your stuff through some massive hydraulics, not to mention people getting thrown about and landing on your precious cargo.

Angus Drummond is a fly fishing guide in Colorado. He recently spent 30 days on a Grand Canyon trip. He sent us these pictures with the yellow T6500 case in action. It held their camera gear: a Canon EOS 50D, Fuji Ex-1 and five lenses. It takes a lot of trust to put this much valuable photo equipment in a case. The case performed perfectly, remaining fully latched and mechanically secure, and not allowing any water in throughout the adventure. The case went swimming once and was retrieved intact.

“When conditions are extreme and expensive gear has to stay dry and clean, S3 cases preform flawlessly” – Angus
